Saturday, July 10, 2010 - Summer Pin Swap #3

We held our Pin Swap #3 at Aberdeen Centre in Richmond, BC.  Aberdeen Centre graciously supplied the tables, the air conditioned venue and the turnout was just fantastic!  Definitely, it was one of our biggest and most well attended events yet!

With over 20 trader tables displaying their collections, and many pin heads ranging from junior to advance, everyone was successful, and managed to walk away with pins to add to their collections.  Our event was three hours long and had pins collections ranging from the Olympics to Sports Federations, as well as other global sporting events.  We received many compliments on how friendly and helpful our table registrants were in sharing their stories of the origins of their pins.  Thank you to all table registrants for participating at this event.

The theme at this event was to give back to the community by introducing the younger generation into the hobby of pin collecting.  We introduced our first KIDS ZONE--an area set up and made exclusively for kids to trade, with free mini
tables set up for the kids to trade amongst other kids.  They got free pins donated from many of our members, and entered into draws to win pin lanyards, Olympic pin sets (such as Visa mascots and BCLC Sportsfunder), and even the highly desired Sidney Crosby Jersey pin!  Many thanks to all those that contributed to this station. The kids loved every moment of it!

Lastly, a HUGE THANK YOU to Aberdeen Centre for letting us host our event at their wonderful venue!

We appreciate everyone's efforts in keeping to our club's philosophy of pin trading, as we strive to keep our events free of charge to the public. Hats off to you my fellow pin heads!

Sunday, May 16, 2010 - Mini Pin Swap #2

Our second pin swap was just as popular as our first!  We held Pin Swap #2 at Killarney Community Centre on May 16, 2010.  Killarney graciously opened their doors and was our first venue sponsor.  This was Killarney's first pin trading event in their facility and needless to say, there was an overwhelming response from both members and the public.  Tables were fully booked three days from posting the event on our website and even on the morning of, we still received many requests for additional space.

The event was four hours long and we were extremely surprised to find our members sitting and waiting 30 minutes prior to the event start time, eager to begin their trades!

We thank all who pre-registered for Pin Swap #3 and those who made donations to maintain our website and keep our club going.  We strive to keep our events to strictly trading to keep our events free, and appreciate any contributions in the future.

Below, are photos of our event.  A BIG THANK YOU again to our members and the public for participating and a big welcome to our new members who joined the club. I am happy to say this was once again a memorable event!

"I am very pleased and can not resist to tell you, that your club is 'the best of the best' for pin trading events. It's following the Olympic tradition with strict rules for pin trading only. People love it, even I am trying not to get into the pin addiction too much. I have to come to see your show. It's wonderful and congratulations to you. I admire and salute you." - HJ

I left a small donation in your box. All I can say is that I appreciate this wonderful gesture and in my own life I will pass on similar kindness to others." - Stephen

Saturday, April 3, 2010 - 1st Pin Swap

We held our first Pin Swap at the Renfrew Branch Library on the Easter long weekend!
Despite the last minute planning and posting, we were surprised to find that almost 400 participants took the time and joined us in showcasing and trading their pins.

We had junior and starter traders to advanced pinheads and we all had tons of fun!
Our members as well as the public had the opportunity to set up and showcase their collections as well as engage in a whole lot of pin trading.

We all met new people and many if not all participants were successful at trading and taking home a new found pin to add to their collection.

A BIG thank you for all the members who came and supported Lucky Charms Pin Collection as well as a big welcome to our new members!
I am pleased to announce that our membership list doubled since this event!
